There is so much inspiration in looking back at the time we all spent together in Learning Session V earlier this week.
The recordings and slides are posted below for your use:
Day 1 recording/slides
Day 2 recording/slides
Some key highlights from the two days include:
- CSN is funded by the Health Resources Services Administration and strives to fulfill aspects of the MCH strategic plan through the work of the CSLC, the Children’s Safety Network and the Children’s Safety Now Alliance. This work is further embellished by the breadth of related work at CSN’s home organization, Education Development Center, Inc.
- The CSLC is a data-driven project for both participating strategy teams and the Children’s Safety Network. CSN has set collaborative aims for the entire CSLC and is working with our research partners at PIRE to collect and analyze data from the CSLC team data submissions, as well as results from our pre/post cohort questionnaires to assess the impact of the Learning Collaborative on achieving our aims.
- To help states effectively access and use data, CSN recently created Data Maps for each of the selected CSLC topics. We’ve also published Outcome Data Worksheets on select topics to help states identify and manage outcome data resources.
- The CSLC approach builds off the CSN Framework for Quality Improvement and Innovation in Child Safety: A Guide to Implementing Injury and Violence Prevention Strategies and Programs that promotes 3 key focus areas to promote workforce development and injury and violence prevention systems improvement. We shared resources and key concepts for each of these 3 areas.
- Child Safety Expertise

- System Mapping and Injury and Violence Prevention Systems Toolkit
- Operationalizing your strategies and measures (each topic has a unique form available via the Submit menu on the CSLC Web Portal)

We provided a variety of Web Portal Deep Dive test activities to allow members to explore the Web Portal – these activities are still available through Friday 11/19. Please refer to the CSLC Website and Data User Guide for tech support at any time
- Strategy Team leads are asked to submit and update their team roster Google sheet on a regular basis to ensure that all active team members have access to the Web Portal.
- CSN is a resource to support ALL Title V work, regardless of enrollment in the CSLC. We encourage everyone to sign up for our monthly newsletter and request technical assistance at any time.
